All non-essential lights were reduced to a minimum and all restaurants of the
Bensaude Hotels served candlelight dinner.
This initiative is part of the Earth Hour project. Throughout the world, millions of people turned off their lights at the exact same hour, in order to raise awareness in reducing energy consumption on Earth. Sustainability is so important and prevalent at the Bensaude Hotels, as both Marina Atlântico and Terceira Mar Hotels hold the SGS ICS certifications and have active registrations in the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), a management tool to evaluate, report and improve environmental performance. Hotel Açores Lisboa has also obtained the top efficiency score in the energy performance certification process. Continuously aware of the growing need to improve environmental performance, the Bensaude Hotels aim to be Sustainable and guarantee Air Quality.
This initiative was embraced by all our guests, who congratulated us in our efforts on Earth Hour. The Bensaude Hotels will commit to turn off the lights in 2013!
